The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 81.71 points yesterday to close at 4,030.43.

On a quiet day of trading Butterfield Bank rose $1.50 to close at $50 as investors traded in 17,027 shares and Belco Holdings moved up 90 cents to close at $39.90 on volume of 1,000 shares, while no other issues changed price.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $885, 209.50 and the overall volume of shares was 18,027.
