The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index fell 40.96 points yesterday to close at 4,944.41.

On a quiet day on the Exchange, Butterfield Bank fell 75 cents to close at $56.75 as investors traded in 1,817 shares.

The only other activity on the Exchange saw Argus trade in 7,000 shares to close unchanged at $14.50.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $204,614.75 and the overall volume of shares traded was 8,817.
