Come to the sale ? it?s sew special!

A range of sewing machine models are being flown into the Island for a special sale from Saturday through Monday that will include demonstrations, including a run-down on the latest computerised model.

Bermuda sewing machine distributor and mechanic Edwin Baker is working with a US group to bring in the range of machines, which are to be displayed for sale at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess. The sewing machines are being brought to market after orders placed by American schools fell through. The importers are coming to Bermuda after several successful sales were staged in the Caribbean, according to US organiser Stefan Herari.

Mr. Herari is one of four flying in from the US to give machine demonstrations, said that models from trusted sewing machine manufacturer Singer (in operation since 1851), and other makes, will be up for sale. The sale, in the Catherine Room, at the Fairmont is to run on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. and Monday from noon to 7 p.m.
