Housekeeping at American International Group (AIG) has led to affiliates Starr Excess Liability Company Ltd. and American International Underwriters (Mediterranean) Inc. cancelling their registration with the Bermuda Monetary Authority at the request of the companies.
A spokesman from AIG said on Friday: "We are deregistering this branch. We have two Starr Excesses with branches and we only need one. One is an Irish company and one is a US company so we are just getting rid of one because it is a redundancy."
