has appointed Pete Ramsdale as Chief Information Officer. Reporting to Wendell Emery, executive vice president, operations & technology, Mr. Ramsdale will be responsible for the strategic development of the Bank's systems and managing the IT department, which comprises over 70 employees.
A 25-year veteran of the industry, Mr. Ramsdale was previously the senior vice president, IT, for ACE Bermuda.

, in conjunction with Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP, recently advised DLJ Merchant Banking, JP Morgan Partners, Thomas H Lee, and Bain Capital in their ?1.6 billion acquisition of Warner Chilcott Plc. The acquisition was arranged through a sophisticated Bermuda holding company structure. Appleby also advised on the Bermuda security aspects of the transaction.
The acquisition of Warner Chilcott, a speciality pharmaceutical company based in Craigavon, Northern Ireland and Rockaway, New Jersey, was implemented using a UK holding company by way of a scheme of arrangement under Article 418 of the Companies (Northern Ireland) Order 1986.
Counsel John McMahon led the Appleby team that included Erica Robinson, James Bodi, and Cheryl Harney.
Mr. McMahon said: "This transaction highlighted the fact that institutional private equity firms and their advisors view Bermuda as an ideal location to build the tax and corporate structure required for sophisticated transactions of this nature."
