RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. has promoted to senior vice president of its catastrophe reinsurance unit. Mr. Curtis, 33, is responsible for underwriting international property catastrophe reinsurance business for the company?s largest business segment.

Mr. Curtis joined Renaissance in 1999 as a catastrophe reinsurance analyst and later become an international property catastrophe underwriter. He continues to be an active participant in the ongoing development of the company?s proprietary Renaissance Exposure Management System and additional portfolio analysis methodologies.
He holds an MA in Philosophy from University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Mr. Berler will report to Dennis Kane, XL Insurance?s Chief Operating Officer for the Americas and will coordinate the worldwide delivery of XL Insurance?s products and services to the global energy industry.
Property, casualty, professional liability, environmental, power outage, risk management, weather risk and offshore energy products are among the coverages designed to address the risk challenges encountered by oil & gas firms, alternative energy businesses, power generation companies and utilities.
Mr. Berler will be based in Hartford, Connecticut.

NEW YORK (Bloomberg) ? the world?s third-largest insurance broker, hired Eric Dinallo as general counsel, succeeding William P. Bowen Jr.
Mr. Dinallo was formerly head of regulatory affairs at New York-based Morgan Stanley, Willis said yesterday in a statement distributed by Business Wire.
He will be responsible for legal and regulatory affairs globally and report to chief executive officer Joe Plumeri, said Willis, which is based in Bermuda and run from London.
Mr. Bowen is retiring from Willis in April after five years at the company.
