Company Moves

Litigation involving the world's largest company ever to declare bankruptcy, Enron, has spread to Bermuda.

A writ filed in the Supreme Court on December 21 says: "In the matter of the Company's Act 1981 and in the matter of Enron Re Ltd. and in the matter of the petition of Harrington International Insurance Ltd. between Harrington International Insurance and Enron Re Ltd."

Harrington was incorporated in Bermuda in 1995 as part of Swiss Re New Markets

Brady Young, president and chief executive and a member of the board, was off the Island yesterday and a spokesperson for the company declined to comment on the proceedings.

Lawyers for Harrington are Milligan-Whyte and Smith who also declined to comment on the matter yesterday.

And no one from Enron could be contacted about the matter yesterday.

Harrington this year elected a new board following the acquisition by Winterthur Swiss of Swiss Re's 71.4 percent interest in Harrington.

Harrington offers capacity to the captive market of major industrial and commercial corporations.
