elmari rewarded for technical prowess
The National Training Board (NTB) has announced that Delmari Scott has achieved one of Microsoft's highest designations this month.
Mr. Scott, an NTB Information Technology Occupational Analysis Committee (ITOAC) candidate, received his Microsoft Engineer certificate while working through his apprenticeship with Systems Business Integration (SBI) Limited.
The Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) credential is the premier certification for professionals who analyse the business requirements and design and implement the infrastructure for business solutions based on the Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Servers software.
Mr. Scott was registered with NTB's programme and upon their recommendation, SBI guided Mr. Scott through the industry's technological hardware and software maze.
"I found the programme was an ideal way for a person to be immersed into the business culture upon leaving school. Not only have I learned a great deal about computers, software technology and in general how businesses function. I also found it to be a great experience - one I would recommend to anyone contemplating entering such a field," Mr. Scott said.
"I discovered the Microsoft Certification examinations to be rather challenging at times, but I persevered and I am really proud of what I've been able to achieve."
SBI has been pleased with Mr. Scott's performance and commended NTB incentives to educate more Bermudians in the ever changing, fast-paced industry. "Mr. Scott has proven the validity of this wonderful programme and we are extremely pleased with the speed it took Delmari to attain his certification," said CEO of SBI Jamie Thain.
"Without such a programme, we may never have been exposed to the high calibre of candidates the National Training Board has to offer. SBI will continue to fully sponsor the incentives of NTB's ITOAC programme.
Testing facilities for the NTB OAC candidates is provided by Gateway Systems Limited and Mr. Scott was able to test his knowledge on the Microsoft MCSE programme with Gateway. An agreement with Gateway and Microsoft allows applicants to take the exams locally.
Director of Learning Services at Gateway Systems Limited Joseph Strenk said: "The exams provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise in solution design and implementation. "
