Haycock to step down from KPMG

KPMG senior partner will retire from KPMG on September 30.His retirement from the firm will also mark his departure from KPMG?s European Board and KPMG?s International Council.Mr. Haycock said he was extremely confident the partners would lead the team of 180 staff to even greater success in the future. ?My retirement is part of a well thought out succession plan and I believe the transition will be seamless.?

KPMG senior partner will retire from KPMG on September 30.

His retirement from the firm will also mark his departure from KPMG?s European Board and KPMG?s International Council.

Mr. Haycock said he was extremely confident the partners would lead the team of 180 staff to even greater success in the future. ?My retirement is part of a well thought out succession plan and I believe the transition will be seamless.?

Mr. Haycock joined the local firm as a partner in 1985 after spending eight years in industry in Bermuda.

During this time he held positions on a number of local company boards, including the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), Butterfield Bermuda Press Holdings Limited and Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited.

Mr. Haycock has also been active on several charities and Government advisory committees and is currently immediate past chairman of the Board of the Bermuda International Business Association (BIBA).

He is also a past president and council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bermuda and during his tenure was a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Board of Governors.

In 1993 Mr. Haycock was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bermuda, and the Governor of Bermuda appointed him a Justice of the Peace in 1987.

Prior to assuming the role of Senior Partner three and a half years ago, Mr. Haycock led the KPMG?s trust business and the local client practice where he served as engagement partner for many clients.

Chairman of the board of directors of the Bank of Bermuda Limited John Campbell has announced the appointment of , OBE, as a director of the Bank, effective July 28.

Mr. Campbell noted Mr. Elliott?s extensive merchant and investment banking experience, first as vice chairman of SG Warburg & Co. Ltd., London and later as a managing director of Morgan Stanley & Co., Incorporated New York.

Mr. Elliott is also chairman of Latsco Shipping Limited a Bermuda-registered private holding company and a director of G. Heywood Hill, the old-established London booksellers.

Mr. Elliott previously served as chairman of the Bermuda Land Development Company Limited and EFG Private Bank Ltd.

Mr. Elliott is an Honorary Fellow of St. Antony?s College, Oxford, and an author and translator.

He is also a trustee of the Morgan Library and Museum in New York.

Mr. Campbell said with Mr. Elliott?s international experience, coupled with his knowledge of local affairs, is ideally suited to serve as a director of the bank and welcomed his return to the board where he served from August 1996 until December 2002 when he stepped down to complete two books.

The Staff Benevolent Fund of recently donated $3,000 to the Bermuda Diabetes Association.

Ken Siggins, chairman of the committee that oversees the fund, said: ?We?re proud to donate this money to the Bermuda Diabetes Association.

?We recognise their commitment and hard work, not only in assisting those living with diabetes in Bermuda, but in educating the public and finding ways to fight the disease.?

Ms Jacqui Neath-Myrie, executive officer for the Bermuda Diabetes Association, accepted the donation.

The has made several senior appointments in its legal group. formerly general counsel of ACE Bermuda, has been appointed deputy general counsel for litigation, Ace Group Holdings, Incorporated.

Mr. Lenzen will direct all litigation by and against the company and will supervise Ace?s litigation lawyers in Philadelphia, Bermuda, New York and Atlanta.

Mr. Lenzen will report to Ace Limited general counsel Robert Cusumano and will remain based in Bermuda.

?John has proven over the past several years that he knows how to manage Ace?s largest and most complex litigation exposures,? Mr. Cusumano said.

?I am confident that his sophisticated approach to litigation and dispute resolution will serve our company well on a worldwide basis.?

Mr. Lenzen joined Ace in 2002 and holds a bachelor of arts degree from Rutgers University, a masters degree in business administration from the University of Michigan Business School and a juris doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law. formerly general counsel to the Ace Tempest Re Group, has been appointed director of reinsurance litigation, Ace Group Holdings, Incorporated.

Mr. Megaw will oversee all reinsurance litigation by and against Ace, including both ceded and assumed reinsurance disputes and he will report to Mr. Lenzen and will be located in Philadelphia.

?With extensive experience both as a litigator and as general counsel for our reinsurance operations, Mark brings a sophisticated perspective to our company?s reinsurance disputes,? Mr. Cusumano said.

?Consolidating both ceded and assumed reinsurance disputes under Mark?s leadership will allow us to maintain consistency while litigating these disputes around the world.? , formerly senior vice president and chief claims officer, Ace Tempest Re USA, has been appointed general counsel to the Ace Tempest Re Group.

In this position, based in Stamford, Connecticut, Mr. Conlon will be responsible for the legal operation of Ace?s reinsurance subsidiaries and will advise management concerning contracts, regulatory developments, claims and strategy.

Jacques Bonneau, president and chief executive officer of Ace Tempest Re Group, said: ?Kevin is thoroughly familiar with our reinsurance operations, their exposures and business plans, and I welcome him to this new role on our senior management team.?

The also announced that was appointed to the position of deputy general counsel for Government and Industry Affairs, Ace Group Holdings, Incorporated. In this new position, Ms Henry will be responsible for supervising Ace?s relations with governmental and industry organisations throughout the world.

She will report to Ace Limited general counsel Robert Cusumano and will work directly with senior management and Ace?s president and chief executive officer, Evan Greenberg.

Ms Henry?s responsibilities will include managing Ace?s memberships in various industry organisations such as the American Insurance Association, the Reinsurance Association of America, and the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers.

She will also coordinate Ace?s relationship with quasi-governmental organisations such as the International Association of Insurance Supervisors and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Ms Henry will supervise Ace?s government affairs professionals and, with Matt Niemeyer, Ace?s senior vice president for government affairs, she will continue her work on various legislative initiatives pending before Congress and a number of state legislatures.

Ms Henry holds a bachelor of arts degree from the College of William and Mary and a juris doctor degree from the Villanova University School of Law.

Project Services Limited?s managing director, Martin Bolton, said that PSL, a one-man operation started in early 2005, has re-located to new larger premises on Mill Reach Road, Pembroke.

Mr. Bolton said although the construction industry was booming worldwide, it has had to undergo major changes and Bermuda has had to embrace its fair share, albeit on a smaller scale. Martin Bolton views some of these changes as positive ones for PSL.
