Henderson fills new HWP post of technical trainer

The newly created position at HWP came about as a result of the continuing trend towards more technically advanced vehicles and the need for ongoing specialist training for HWP?s automotive mechanics.

In his role as technical trainer, Mr. Henderson attends vehicle brand training sessions overseas, handles vehicle troubleshooting and diagnostic assessments, and liaises with technical specialists at the headquarters for each automotive brand.

He also leads onsite training for all automotive mechanics at HWP including managing and monitoring completion of required technical courses.

Mr. Henderson has a strong automotive service background, including previous employment with Audi, Mazda, Renault and Toyota in the UK.

He joined HWP as an A-1 automotive mechanic in 2003, and held that position for three years before leaving the company to head to New Zealand for three months earlier this year.

Mr. Henderson hails from Northumberland County in Great Britain.

Mr. Healy, who was appointed CEO for a five year term in September 2001, has agreed to extend his term for an additional year before returning to his home country, Ireland.

Mr. Healy, 59, has been associated with The Atlantic Philanthropies since 1990.

He led the initiative to focus Atlantic?s grantmaking on four areas: ageing, disadvantaged children & youth, population health, and reconciliation and human rights.

As of March 30, Atlantic had awarded grants totalling $3.64 billion since 1982. Remaining in the endowment is approximately $3.8 billion.
