Hiscox reiterates profit forecasts

(Bloomberg) Hiscox Plc., a Lloyd?s of London insurer, reiterated its profit forecast for its 2004 and 2005 accounts.

The London-based insurer said profit at Syndicate 33?s 2004 account will be five percent to 12.5 percent of its underwriting capacity. The 2005 account will range from a loss of 7.5 percent to a profit of 2.5 percent, it said in a Regulatory News Service statement. Hiscox reports first-half results on September 11.

Results for Hiscox and other Lloyd?s of London insurers were depressed last year, the costliest ever for natural disasters. Hiscox has a Bermuda subsidiary.
