George Melling, Director of Facilities Management for the Bermuda Hospitals Board, has been honoured by the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) with their prestigious Fellow Certificate.

As one of fewer than 200 people in the world with such a designation, Mr. Melling won the title for demonstrating significant individual responsibility, sustained achievement and exceptional professionalism during his career.

Facilities Management is one of the fastest growing professions in the world.

Experts in this field are responsible for the buildings and services that support businesses, including hospitals. Acting hospital CEO Venetta Symonds said: ?We are pleased Mr. Melling has achieved this honour, which ranks him among the best facilities managers in the world.

Mr. Melling has held his current post at BHB since August 2003.
