HSBC?s marketing chief set to leave
LONDON (Bloomberg) ? HSBC Holdings Plc, which owns the Bank of Bermuda, said global marketing head Peter Stringham is leaving the company.
Stringham, 57, who was responsible for the HSBC?s ?world?s local bank? advertising campaign, has worked for the London-based lender for six years, the company said in an e-mailed statement yesterday.
His replacement, who will report directly to chief executive officer Michael Geoghegan, will be announced before Stringham leaves next March, it said.
?Peter?s contribution has been significant,? Geoghegan said in the statement. ?We now wish to take this brand to the next level of global service excellence.?
HSBC?s brand is valued at over $11 billion and ranks 28th in the world, the bank said, citing international consulting firm Interbrand.
The HSBC brand ?is well established now?, Stringham said in the statement. ?It?s time for someone else to take up the challenge.?
