Index falls on moderate activity

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index fell 1.46 points yesterday to close at 3,896.32.Moderate activity on the exchange saw Masters Limited decline 25 cents with 11,000 shares traded to close at $16.25.Belco Holdings fell slightly by ten cents to close at $40.25 on volume of 100 shares and Butterfield Bank remained unchanged at $46.30 as 117 shares changed hands. Bermuda Press Holdings traded in 50 shares to remain unchanged at $14.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $188,847.10 and the overall volume of shares was 11,267 shares.
