Global Directories (Caribbean ) Ltd., a subsidiary of Island Press (Holdings) Ltd. has signed a multiyear contract with Cable and Wireless to publish the company's directories in the Caribbean.

With the signing of this directory publishing agreement, Global Directories will be the publisher of the telephone directory for nine countries in the Caribbean. Directories covered in the agreements are Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, The Cayman Islands, Dominica, Montserrat, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & The Granadines and Turks & Caicos Islands.

Randy French, chairman of Island Press (Holdings) Ltd. said: "Growth into these markets is a natural extension for our Bermuda directory publishing operations. we look forwards to a long and prosperous relationship between Cable & Wireless."

Global Directories (Caribbean) Ltd. also announced the acquisition of Caribbean Publishing Company (CPC) from Bell ActiMedia, a subsidiary of Bell Canada.

With the acquisition of CPC, Global Directories expands its directory publishing operations to encompass Antigua, Aruba, Bonaire, Jamaica and Barbados.

Cable & Wireless offers a full range of telecommunications services in 70 countries around the world and has been providing communications services in Bermuda for over 100 years.
