KeyTech shares rise

KeyTech shares jumped 50 cents to $16 as the telecommunications group, which has rejected a $17 a share bid by Cable & Wireless, saw 50,123 shares trade.
The trade pushed The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index up 5.9 points in otherwise quiet trading yesterday.
All other stocks were unchanged with Butterfield Bank holding at $59 on volume of just 91 shares, Kentucky Fried Chicken at $6 on volume of 900 shares and Argus at $14.50 on trading of 700 shares.
The Index closed at 4,913.50 on volume of 51,814 shares worth $822,825.50.
