Logic keen to hire and train Bermudian talent

Logic Communications Ltd., Bermuda's first Internet Service Provider (ISP) is committed to hiring and training local IT talent according to the company's budding IT professionals Michael Roberts, Reemah Smith and Kevin McCottry.

Mr. Roberts who works in Logic's Network Operation Centre (NOC) said, "I really enjoy working here and every day is a new challenge."

Mr. Roberts started at Logic as a summer student four years ago while working on a Computer Science degree at Dalhousie University in Canada. He is expected to finish his Bachelor degree next summer and is also working towards his CCNA and CCNP Cisco Certifications.

Michael explained: "The key to success is having the right attitude and the willingness to learn. The experience I have gained at Logic is astronomical and the company has encouraged me, with financial support, to continue my studies."

Reemah Smith first joined Logic as a Customer Support representative, quickly moving to Logic's Professional Service Business Unit (PSBU) to gain more hands-on experience.

"Once in PSBU I had the luck of working with Michael Roberts, who was instrumental in helping me gain the knowledge I have now," said Reemah. "I love working for Logic because I'm always learning something new and exciting and there are plenty of perks here." Reemah currently works in Logic's Internal IT Department as a Network Administrator. She is studying for her CCNA & Cisco IP Telephony Certifications.

Kevin McCottry recently came back to Bermuda from serving in the US army for 8 years. "Working for Logic has been quite a career change for me" said Kevin, "but is has allowed me to further my interest and education in computers and new technology."

He is studying for his MCSE XP, and A+. Currently working in the Customer Support Department where he is considered the "master" of troubleshooting, Kevin is excited to start working in the Professional Services Business Unit soon.
