(Bloomberg) -- Marsh & McLennan Cos., the world's biggest insurance brokerage, said it may sell its wholesale broker units in the US and Britain.

Marsh hired Banc of America Securities LLC to "explore strategic alternatives" for Dallas-based Crump Group Inc. and Price Forbes Ltd. in London, the New York-based company said in a statement today.

Wholesale brokers arrange complex policies for brokers that deal directly with insurance buyers.
