Ocean View clubhouse up for tender
The Ocean View Golf Course has put its clubhouse restaurant, bar and catering concession up for tender.
The Last Tee, which has held the contract for the last four years, has been invited to re-bid on the tender, but the public golf course has also invited proposals from other restaurateurs.
?It is a Government-owned golf club so we basically put all contracts that have expired out to tender,? the club?s general manager, Marie Hassell-Johnson, said.
Ocean View is looking for a company that can maintain the venue?s atmosphere as a golf club restaurant. The initial tender is for three years. The contract includes a catering concession as well as the clubhouse bar, the restaurant, which includes a 24x7 square foot kitchen and 782 square foot dining room, and use of the club?s terrace and veranda areas.
Ms Hassell-Johnson said interest has already been very strong. Beyond the rent proposal, the trustees of the golf course will also be looking for proposals that will bring more people to the club.
?We are looking for somebody who actually understands the game of golf but who also has restaurant experience and can create a golfer?s atmosphere,? Ms Hassell-Johnson said.
