Oleander Cycles has bought St. George's based Dowling Cycles Ltd.

General manager of Oleander Cycles Geoffrey Gibbons confirmed yesterday that the assets of Dolding Cycles had been purchased by Oleander, and an official announcement naming the new locations manager would be made shortly.

He declined to say why the company had made the purchase of the East End operation.

However Oleander Cycles has locations at Valley Road in Paget, Gorham Road in Hamilton, the Clock Tower in Dockyard and Middle Road in Southampton so the buyout may have been to establish a presence in St. George's.
