Finance Minister Eugene Cox yesterday launched a series of anti-money laundering posters.

They will be distributed to various financial institutions, Post Offices and retail outlets.

The posters (an example is pictured left) entitled, "Think About It", and "Stop. Be Vigilant", are aimed at creating an awareness of the risks involved in money laundering.

Mr. Cox said: "In addition, the National Anti-Money Laundering Committee is developing a website which will contain up to date information on Bermuda's current anti-money laundering policies and practices, access to the relevant anti-money laundering legislation, as well as appropriate contacts.

"Government recognises the benefits to be gained by promoting greater public awareness and understanding of the harms and ill effects of money laundering."

The Bermuda Monetary Authority began distributing the posters yesterday.
