Premier welcomes IBM delegates

Government has apologised for inviting the media to cover Premier Alex Scott?s welcoming speech to IBM?s Global Golden Circle convention.

Government invited the local media to attend his speech, however security guards blocked their entrance to the Mid-Ocean Amphitheatre at the Fairmont Southampton on arrival.

Government later apologised for failing to clear the presence of the media at the conference with IBM and emailed the speech which the Premier gave to ?some of the world?s top IBM performers? as they celebrated ?their remarkable accomplishments of this past year?.

The Premier told the delegates: ?Bermuda, as I am sure many of you are aware, is itself notable in global business affairs. Our reputation as one of the world?s leading financial domiciles puts us at the pinnacle of the international business sector.

?But do not be fooled by our business acumen. Our country boasts of another reputation of which we are fiercely proud ? our blue skies, friendly people, beautiful pink sand beaches and glimpses of colonial history blended with 21st Century wonder makes our home a choice for those with discerning tastes. Witness your presence here today,? Premier Scott said.
