Sbi to market Thinkpads

(Sbi) has signed an agreement with Lenovo to sell the Lenovo (formerly IBM personal computing) line of Think Advantage products, including the popular ThinkPad notebooks.

?The addition of Lenovo to our product line strengthens our offering and provides our customers access to superior technology at an excellent price point,? Jamie Thain, Sbi CEO said.

Claude Duncan, Business Partner Manager, Northern Caribbean Lenovo (United States) Incorporated has visited Sbi this week to meet with the Sbi sales and technical teams, and discuss the business plan for Sbi and Lenovo for the Bermuda market.

Lenovo has held firm to its number one ranking in customer satisfaction for ThinkPad notebooks, according to the most recent Technology Business Research (TBR) report published November 17.

In TBR?s 3Q2005 Corporate IT Buying Behavior and Customer Satisfaction Study, Lenovo improved its positioning by adding product design satisfaction as a fifth competitive strength to its already established leadership for quality, parts availability, phone support, and time to repair.

Sbi is investing in Lenovo training, and recently sent Sbi President Brad Clark to Curacao for a Lenovo summit.

?We are very excited about working with Lenovo, and have been using ThinkPads internally at Sbi as our corporate standard for a number of years.

?We have found them to be highly reliable,? Mr. Thain said.
