TBI signs distribution deal with SAVVIS

(TBI) has signed a comprehensive distribution agreement with SAVVIS Incorporated giving it exclusive rights to offer select SAVVIS solutions in Bermuda.

The agreement with SAVVIS Incorporated, a global leader in IT infrastructure services for business applications, will enable TBI and TeleCayman Limited to leverage SAVVIS industry leading global private financial network to develop products and services for clients, primarily in banking and finance, insurance and reinsurance and hedge fund industries.

As part of the agreement, SAVVIS? global private network infrastructure will be connected directly to TeleBermuda?s Network Operation Centre in Bermuda and TeleCayman?s Network Operation Centre in the Cayman Islands.

?SAVVIS?s product offerings will complement the voice, private line, dedicated Internet, DSL and hosted business continuity products and services that are already offered by TeleBermuda International,? Gregory Swan, executive vice president and chief operating officer for TeleBermuda International said.

?TBI also provides co-location services bundled with dedicated Internet access, which is an ideal solution for any business seeking to make their corporate network equipment secure and are seeking a remote data storage solution,? Mr. Swan continued.

@EDITRULE:Curtis Dickinson has joined the Butterfield Bank as senior vice president of corporate management. Mr. Dickinson is returning home after gaining 14 years of experience in the financial services industry in the US and the UK most recently as a member of the Leverage Finance Investment Banking team at Wachovia Securities in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Prior to joining Wachovia, Mr. Dickinson worked as a director in the Media and Communications Investment Banking Groups at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation (and Credit Suisse First Boston Corporation) in New York and London.

Before joining DLJ, Mr. Dickinson completed the financial management training programme at AXA Financial Incorporated

Mr. Dickinson received a Masters of Business Administration degree from Columbia University?s Graduate School of Business in 1993.

He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Finance with Departmental Honors from Morehouse College, in Atlanta, Georgia in 1987.

Mr. Dickinson is a graduate of the West End Primary School and The Berkeley Institute where he had served as Deputy Head Boy and Green House Captain.

Ace appoints Ward director of operations

Ace Limited has appointed Giles Ward director of operations for the Middle East and North Africa.

Ward, who begins in the new post September 16, will report to Andrew Kendrick, chairman and chief executive of the company?s European group. He will be based in a newly established regional office in Bahrain.

In the position, Ward will oversee business development in the region, including introduction of accident, health, property and casualty insurance products. For the past five years, Ward has served as president and CEO of AXA?s Malaysia subsidiary, AXA Affin General Insurance.

Ace, a Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer, operates in more than 50 countries worldwide. The company earned $573 million last quarter.
