Young web designer launches online sales site

Photo by Glenn TuckerDream team: Bryant Richards and Damond Philpott have launched a new website called www.gofishads.com for classifieds ads.

Berkeley Institute graduate Damond Philpott is hoping his website www.gofishads.com will soon become a household name in Bermuda for buying and selling goods.

The 20 year old self taught graphic designer, currently employed at FKBnet (Fort Knox Bermuda) as a web developer and graphic designer, created gofishads.com to be a highly user friendly classifieds site.

The site was constructed in December when the young entrepreneur was working as a freelance graphic designer but with the support of FKBnet CEO Troy Symonds, and the marketing and sales expertise of Bryant Richards, Mr. Philpott decided to re-launch the site.

The site is now live but the official re-launch will be on July 14. "The purpose of the site is to create an alternative for people selling anything online, automobiles, bikes, DVD's, toys, electronic goods, furniture, apartments," Mr. Philpott said.

"We think of the site more as more a business venture and eventually the site will become completely automated, meaning that advertisers like CellularOne or Digicel could go on to the site and upload their own banners."

"Gofish is going to become a network in the near future, Gofish classifieds will extend to personal ads and jobs and I am pretty confident Gofish will become a household name."

Gofishads joins a growing number of site providing this service, including emoo.com, sinkybay.bm sell.bm, bermudaadz.com and bermudaads.com.

Mr. Philpott is not concerned by the growing number of competitors offering similar services because he believes he has strong marketing plan to raise the profile of the site and the quality of services gofishads will provide.

"The design of the site is very simple, it doesn't matter how old or young you are, it is easy to navigate and the biggest thing separating us from other sites is our advanced search engine."
