ATLANTA (Bloomberg) — Accenture, the world's second biggest technology consulting firm, won a $185 million contract from Microsoft Corporation to provide finance, accounting and purchasing services.
Under the seven-year agreement, Accenture will run accounts payable, manage travel and process purchase orders for the world's biggest software maker. The contract consolidates work being provided now by other companies, Accenture said.
The order eventually will cover 92 countries and 36 languages, Bermuda-based Accenture said in a statement. The effort will help Microsoft streamline its global finance operations and reduce expenses.
Accenture stock has gained 7.7 percent this year.
