NEW YORK (Bloomberg) — American International Group Inc., the world’s largest insurer, settled trademark and other disputes with a firm run by former chief executive officer Maurice (Hank) Greenberg.Greenberg’s C.V. Starr & Co. sold insurance coverage on behalf of AIG before Greenberg was removed amid an accounting probe at the New York-based insurer last year.
Under the agreement, AIG won’t use the “Starr” name and C.V. Starr will stop doing business under the “AI” and “American International” names, the companies said in a joint statement.
Other terms of the settlement are confidential, the statement said.
