Air Care honours its 'horse stampede' hero employee Warren

Air Care has honoured project sales employee Warren Vincent for his bravery during the Front Street horse stampede last April.

Mr. Vincent selflessly risked his life during the stampede by jumping out of his vehicle and chasing down the runaway horse and carriage during the inaugural Harbour Nights of 2007. He climbed into the moving carriage and brought the horse to a halt, preventing any further chance of injury.

In a small ceremony Air Care co-owner Craig Stevenson presented an award certificate for Outstanding Contribution to the Community to Mr. Vincent to recognise his heroism.

After the event, Mr. Stevenson said: "Air Care is proud to have a person like Warren on our staff. He exemplifies the qualities that we as a company attempt to achieve in our own work everyday."

In addition to the certificate, Air Care offered Mr. Vincent a monetary award to further illustrate their pride in his accomplishments. However, in lieu of accepting the award for his act, Mr. Vincent suggested that he would rather Air Care make a donation to someone in greater need.

As a result, Air Care has decided to donate an "Air Care" split type air conditioner worth $1,000 to be raffled off during a fund raising event for Jeffrey Medeiros.

Jeffrey is a young boy with the rare and terminal illness, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The fundraiser is to help cover the considerable medical costs that have been incurred during his battle with this disease.

Air Care also wishes to congratulate Warren Vincent for his recent honour at the Annual Bermuda Bravery Awards on October 24.
