Apple's iPhone could be here by June
Bermuda could have the newly unveiled iPhone in stock as early as June.
A spokesperson for the iStore on Reid Street said that one of the owners of the company was on hand for the unveiling of the new gadget at the Macworld conference in San Francisco on Tuesday.
She added that he is in talks with their distributor to try and get the phone to Bermuda customers in June, the same time it is set to be available to US customers.
Mac lovers in the UK and Europe will have to wait till the end of 2007 to get their hands on the new phone. It will retail in the US for $499.
Some of the exciting features of the phone are a wider display screen, three-and-a-half inches, a handheld computer that runs Apple’s OS X operating system and the Safari web browser, and a 2-megapixel camera.
The keypad uses touch-screen technology called Multi-Touch, and users will be able to easily flick through their music collection, which will be displayed by CD cover art.
The iPhone was unveiled on Tuesday by Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs to a standing ovation at the conference of Mac enthusiasts.
