Bermuda Container Line makes $1.5m from sale of subsidiary

Bermuda Container Line has completed the sale of its non-active subsidiary company, Tilbury Road Associates for around $1.5 million.

TRA was a US-based property owning subsidiary company that was not part of the core business operations of BCL and it was decided to free up the capital resources invested in TRA.

It is anticipated that after accounting for all expenses and taxes that the disposal of TRA will generate a profit on the sale in the region of $1.5 million which will be booked in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007.

Aurum has had three of its funds' listings approved by the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

They have listed up to 4,999,000 participating shares of the Aurum Europa Dollar Fund, which was incorporated in Bermuda on June 4 and is classified as a Standard Scheme by the Bermuda Monetary Authority under the Investment Funds Act 2006. Continental Sponsors sponsored the listing of the participating shares of the Fund.

"Aurum Europa Dollar Fund is delighted to be listed on the BSX and to be able to benefit from its international reputation", said Sutherland Morris of the Fund.

"We are pleased to welcome the Aurum Europa Dollar Fund to listing", said James McKirdy, chief compliance officer of the BSX.

Meanwhile, up to 4,499,000 participating shares of the Aurum Aggressive Euro Fund and 5,999,000 participating shares of the Aurum Aggressive Sterling Fund were listed on July 10.

The Funds were incorporated in Bermuda on June 4 and it intends to examine a broad range of investment opportunities to identify investment opportunities on a worldwide basis.

At the core of the portfolio the Fund will seek to invest in the highest growth economies and industry sectors. To further diversify the portfolio, the Fund intends to invest in an array of opportunistic short-term traders who the Fund feels can add a non-correlated return stream to the rest of the portfolio.

Continental Sponsors sponsored the listing of the participating shares of the Fund.

Elsewhere, the listing of up to 4,499,000 participating shares of the Aurum Spectra Euro Fund and 5,999,000 participating shares of the Aurum Spectra Sterling Fund was made effective of July 10.

The Funds were incorporated in Bermuda on June 4 and there will now be an emphasis on non-directional trading positions, arbitrage, special situations and event driven concepts.
