Cooper splits shares

HOUSTON (Bloomberg) — Bermuda-incorporated Cooper Industries Ltd., the maker of Crescent wrenches and Halo lighting, said it will split its shares two-for-one and raise its dividend.The record date of the stock split is February 28 and the distribution date is March 15, the Houston-based company said today in a Business Wire release. The annual dividend was raised to $1.68 a share, or 84 cents after the split, from $1.48.
