Germano lands Allied World job

Allied World Assurance Company Holdings has appointed of Todd Germano as senior vice-president of specialty insurance of Allied World US.

In his role, Mr. Germano will be responsible for developing new products with a focus on specialty programmes. He will be based in Allied World's New York office.

John McElroy, chief operating officer of US insurance operations, said: "We are extremely fortunate to have Todd as a new addition to our executive management team. His years of experience, namely in excess casualty, will complement our corporate strategy of providing tailored solutions to our clients and will help to further expand our growing US operations."

Prior to his position with Allied World, Mr. Germano worked for American International Group, Inc. (AIG) for 11 years, most recently serving as executive vice-president for AIG Specialty Excess.

His past positions with AIG also include senior vice-president, of AIG excess casualty, construction specialty division; underwriting officer, AIG excess casualty; and divisional vice-president of AIG excess casualty, national accounts. He began his career as a management information specialist with Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co. in 1987.

Mr. Germano graduated with a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Marketing from the University of Connecticut.
