ATLANTA (AP) — Delta Air Lines Inc.’s projection that it will be worth as much as $12 billion when it emerges from bankruptcy protection is “unrealistic,” US Airways chief executive Doug Parker said yesterday as his company pushes ahead with its hostile bid to buy Delta.Parker also said during a conference call with analysts and reporters that the Tempe, Arizona-based company strongly believes its $8.3 billion offer to buy Atlanta-based Delta will pass regulatory scrutiny.
Parker’s comments came as the unsecured creditors committee in Delta’s bankruptcy case said on Wednesday it supports Delta’s decision to file its stand-alone reorganisation plan, but that it also will weigh alternatives.
