Amlin moves Wyatt to Bermuda

Amlin yesterday announced that it is transferring Rob Wyatt to Amlin Bermuda with effect from 1 April, subject to Bermudian Immigration status. Mr. Wyatt is currently leading class underwriter of property D&F for Syndicate 2001.

He will work alongside underwriting director John Andrews to at Amlin Bermuda, which started operations in November 2005. The company said planned that Mr. Wyatt woul take over as underwriting director in advance of the 2009 underwriting year.

Mr. Wyatt has worked in the Lloyd's market since 1982 and with Harvey Bowring (now Amlin) since 1992. He left in 1996 to work in Bermuda as senior vice-president of underwriting for Terra Nova before returning to Harvey Bowring and Amlin in 2001 as an international catastrophe underwriter. After the World Trade Center disaster, he was appointed leading class underwriter for Amlin's direct and facultative property account.

Amlin CEO Charles Philipps said: "Amlin Bermuda provided an excellent result in 2007, growing its direct income by 26 percent and contributing an underwriting profit up 68.4 percent to the Group. Rob's appointment takes the underwriting team to seven and underlines our commitment to growing our Bermudian business in the long term."
