The amount of Bermuda dollar notes and coins in circulation over the Cup Match holiday was $124.3 million, the Bermuda Monetary Authority has announced.
This compares with $120.3m at the same time last year - a rise of 3.35 percent.
The total amount of notes and coins issued to the banks by the BMA between July 1 and 31 (the traditional pre-Cup Match period) was $12.5m.
Cup Match and Christmas are traditionally times when the figures for notes and coin in circulation rise sharply. This seasonal peak is normally reversed very quickly after the holiday.
