Bermuda reinsurer Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. yesterday announced that Raymond Barrette had resigned as a director of the company with immediate effect following his recent election as chairman and CEO of White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd.

Anthony Taylor, Montpelier’s chairman and chief executive, said: “We are grateful to Ray for his wise counsel and support since the formation of the company. We wish him every success in his new role.”

O’Donnell has been promoted to executive vice-president responsible for Arch Insurance Group’s Executive Assurance Division. He will replace Tom Gamble, who has left to pursue other interests.
