The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index fell by 13.86 points yesterday.

It ended the day at 5,142.31, a drop of 0.27 percent, after 33,797 shares were traded valued at $606,802.

BF&M Ltd. saw its share price drop 95 cents, or 4.1 percent, after 4,500 shares swapped hands. It closed at $22.

Butterfield Bank's share price remained unchanged on $17.35 after 29,297 shares were traded.

The BSX yesterday announced that Butterfield Bank bought 366,606 shares of Butterfield Bank last month at an average price of $17.88, which are to be held in treasury. There were no shares bought back and cancelled by the bank during March.

The Bermuda Insurance Index closed at 1,083.55 an increase of 0.011 percent.
