Mr. Duperreault served as chairman and CEO of Ace from November 1999 through May 2004 and as chairman, president and CEO of Ace from October 1994 through November 1999.

Prior to joining Ace, he had been employed with American International Group (AIG) since 1973 and served in various senior executive positions with AIG and its affiliates from 1978 until September 1994, including as executive vice-president, Foreign General Insurance and, concurrently, as chairman and CEO of American International Underwriters Inc., a subsidiary of AIG, from April 1994 to September 1994.

He was president of American International Underwriters Inc. from 1991 to April 1994, and CEO of AIG affiliates in Japan and Korea from 1989 to 1991.

Mr. Duperreault also serves as a member of The American Academy of Actuaries, a member of the Board of Trustees of Saint Joseph's University, a member of the Board of Trustees of The School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science of St. John's University, a director of the Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son, Ltd., and a director of Tyco International Ltd.

Mr. Duperreault is also chairman of the Centre on Philanthropy, a member of the Board of Trustees of American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters/Insurance Institute of America, and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bermuda Institute for Ocean Sciences.
