BSX edges higher
A fifty cents improvement in the price of Butterfield Bank shares helped the Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange edge up 26.65 points (0.53 percent) to move back above the 5,000 points mark.
It represented the first movement of the index since last Wednesday. The index ended the day at 5,020.75 after shares valued at $896,737.50 were traded on the Exchange.
Shares in Butterfield Bank improved in value by 50 cents (0.9 percent) to $58 after 15,550 were exchanged. It was the only stock market mover.
Twenty-five shares of MediaHouse Limited were also traded but there was no change to the closing price of $4.50.
The total number of local shares traded was 15,575. There was also a small amount of activity in US shares traded in Bermuda with 222, valued at $3,818.40, being exchanged.
