Chamber seeks the 'Wonder Woman' of Island business
The search is on to find Bermuda's 'Wonder Woman' to be honoured at a top business lunch held later this year.
The Chamber of Commerce is on the lookout for the Island's big female success stories of the year when they host the second Annual Wonder Women Luncheon at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess on Friday March 7.
The Chamber originally launched the event last year to recognise women in Bermuda's community who have achieved great things in business and beyond.
Kristi Grayston, head of the retail division of the Chamber and owner of the Pulp & Circumstance stores, said the aim was to find women who have been successful in their respective fields and have given something back to the community.
"We are looking for women who are successful in business whether it be a political success or as entrepreneurs or they have moved up the ranks of the corporate world," she said.
"They have to be women who have been successful in their fields and have also given something back to the community, and there are a lot of them out there."
And she revealed the take up of nominees for the event has been good so far.
"We have just sent out the e-mail on Friday asking for phenomenal women to be nominated," she said. "We did this for the first time last year and 100 women in the community were nominated and invited to a lunch and it was so popular that we have decided to do it again.
"We have already had some new women nominated who were not nominated in last year's list."
The lunch, which will be held the day before International Women's Day on Saturday March 8, will also feature guest speaker Judy Marcus, an expert on memory and helping women to remember better, following the success of last year's speaker and expert in diversity, Elaine Sihera.
All nominations are confidential, with the deadline for submissions on Friday January 25.
