Dockwise adds to its fleet
Bermuda-based Dockwise Ltd. marine contractor added a third vessel to its fleet at subsidiary Dockwise Transport.
After successfully completing the submerging test and sea trials, mv Talisman was delivered to the owners yesterday. The heavy transport vessel is designed to transport complex, high-value cargo like semisubmersible and jack-up drilling units and has a carrying capacity in excess of 35,000 tonnes. The Talisman will load its first cargo at Singapore, immediately after leaving the yard, contributing to revenue and earnings as from than.
This vessel was converted at the COSCO shipyard at Nantong, China. During the conversion the majority of the steel structure was replaced and machinery and equipment was fully replaced or upgraded.
The company, which specialises in providing transport services to the offshore, onshore and yachting industries, as well as the installation of heavy offshore platforms, will add three more vessels to the fleet throughout 2008.
