Paul Lumbis, who gained experience of the Bermuda insurance market with Ernst & Young, has been appointed managing director of corporate finance in Europe for Guy Carpenter & Company.

The global risk and reinsurance specialist, part of the Marsh & McLennan Companies, said Mr. Lumbis will be responsible for leading the firm's European corporate finance business, with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Mr. Lumbis was a senior manager in the insurance sector team of Ernst & Young, with a lead role in the Lloyd's, London and Bermuda insurance markets practice, focusing on M&A transactions, start-ups, IPOs and private debt and equity capital raising.
