It was a slow start to the year for newly-incorporated insurance and reinsurance companies in Bermuda, with only four setting up during the month of January. Among the main ones were the two new Class 3 companies, Jericho Financial Guaranty Re. Ltd., formed on January 8, and Latitude Insurance Ltd., started up on January 17.

Of the other firms which incorporated on the Island, were Inpex Insurance Ltd., a Class 1 insurance company, and Class 2 insurer Eon Group Ltd., formed on January 21 and January 22 respectively.
