Golden Ocean agree to lease new ships

LONDON (Bloomberg) - Golden Ocean Group Ltd., the commodity shipping line chaired by Norwegian billionaire John Fredriksen, arranged to lease out for five years, two vessels that are being built for the company.

The so-called kamsarmax vessels, currently being constructed by Zhoushan Jinhaiwan Shipyard in China, will each be leased for $28,000 a day, Hamilton, Bermuda-based Golden Ocean said yesterday in a statement distributed by Hugin. Golden Ocean did not identify who it has leased the ships to.

Kamsarmaxes normally haul about 80,000 metric tons of coal or iron ore.
