Today a high-level delegation of representatives of China's growing insurance sector will meet with senior figures at ACE to learn more about Bermuda's biggest insurance and reinsurance company.

The party spoke about the current state of the industry in china during a session at the 21st annual International Reinsurance Congress, which has been held at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel this week, and yesterday afternoon had been due to meet with Premier Ewart Brown.

Attendees at the reinsurance event learned about the possibilities of partnerships with emerging companies in China, as well as the investment potential available for those non-Chinese partners who succeed in forming mutually beneficial link-ups.

John Milligan-Whyte, of CORE Capital, also gave insight into how western corporations and companies needed to change their mindset and approach to become genuine global partners with the Chinese companies that will soon dominate worldwide markets.

• A full report of what the Chinese delegation had to say will appear in the business section of Monday's Royal Gazette.
