Shares valued at $388,348.50 were traded on the Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange pushing the Index 9.71 higher (0.20 percent) to reach 4,912.77 at the end of the day.Shares of HSBC Holdings and insurance company BF&M both improved by 50 cents. HSBC ended at a new closing price of $18.75 (2.7 percent up) after 238 shares were traded, while BF&M shares were valued at $18.50 (2.8 percent up) after 11,300 shares were exchanged.

Another riser on the Index was Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd, which climbed 40 cents (4.2 percent) on trading of 11,500 shares to end the day at $9.90.

There were 1,000 Butterfield Bank shares traded but the closing price of $57.00 remained unchanged. And there was no change in the price of KeyTech Limited ($15.55) although 422 shares were traded.
