Major reshuffle and appointments at HWP
Motor specialist HWP has announced a major managerial reshuffle with the appointment of a series of new vice-presidents and sales managers.
Harry Andrews has been appointed vice-president of customer service, Allan Ilderton, vice-president of group parts and John Corday, acting assistant vice-president of automotive sales.
Michael Rawlins takes on the role of senior sales manager of the cycle division, while Craig Earls is sales manager of automotive, and Calvin Iris, manager of Bermuda Shine.
Mr. Andrews, a Bermudian, first joined HWP in 1988 when he started working in the appliance division's warehouse as a summer student. Most recently, he held the position of vice-president of the cycle division, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of HWP's entire cycle division.
In his new role, he will oversee the design, implementation and promotion of all new customer service initiatives. Mr. Andrews gained a BSC in Management and a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing Management from St. John's University in Queen's, New York.
With a view to ensuring that HWP's parts management systems across the company are standardised and as effective as possible, Mr.Ilderton will have overall responsibility for automotive, cycle and electrical parts. He joined the company in 2004 as assistant vice-president of automotive parts.
Originally hailing from Newcastle in the UK, Mr. Ilderton worked for 30 years as an inventory control and supply officer in the British Royal Navy. He subsequently worked for 10 years as the inventory and quality control manager with Prodrive Ltd., a motorsport and automotive technology provider for vehicle manufacturers. They managed the Subaru World Rally Team, Ferrari 550GTS Maranello Le Mans Team and the Honda Formula 1 Team.
Bermudian Mr. Corday has been with HWP since May 1992 when he first worked at Bermuda Shine. In 1994 he moved to automotive sales, becoming showroom sales manager in 1998. In his new post as acting assistant vice-president of automotive sales, he will assist Tony Martin, senior vice-president of automotive sales, in the day-to-day management of the automotive sales department.
Mr. Rawlins, who hails from Barbados and is married to a Bermudian, joined HWP in 2001 as a sales associate of the cycle division. In his new post, he will take over the day-to-day operations of HWP's cycle division from Mr. Andrews.
Bermudian Mr. Earls joined HWP in 2006 as manager of Bermuda Shine and will now take over as sales manager automotive).
Mr. Iris, who has just joined HWP as a new employee, takes over from Mr. Earls. He previously lived in Dallas and worked for unique Performance/Foose Designs, one of the leading muscle car builders in the United States, from April 2002 to October 2006. Mr. Iris recently returned to Bermuda and has worked for both Bermuda Motors and Bermuda Oleander Cycles.
