Marvell slashes CEO's salary to $1 per annum

NEW YORK (Bloomberg) — Bermuda-based Marvell Technology Group Ltd., the maker of chips for Apple Inc.'s iPod, lowered chief executive officer Sehat Sutardja's annual salary to $1 from $657,000.

Marvell also reduced the salaries of technology chief Pantas Sutardja and former chief operating officer Weili Dai, now a non-executive employee married to the CEO, the company said in a regulatory filing. The Sutardjas are brothers.

The cuts were made at Sehat Sutardja's request, the company said. Marvell has reported net losses for the past four consecutive quarters as expenses to run the company, driven by legal costs from a government investigation into stock options accounting, have risen.
