Watlington climbs

Watlington Waterworks Ltd. was the biggest climber on The Royal Gazette Bermuda Stock Exchange Index last week, jumping 7.69 percent.

The utilities company's share price rose from $13 to $14 on the sale of 300 shares over the five days of trading.

The only other issue to rise was Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd., which jumped 15 cents (2.46 percent) to close at $6.25 on Friday, after 3,000 shares traded.

By far the heaviest volume of trading took place in Butterfield Bank, which slipped 25 cents (1.4 percent) to close on $17.65 after 44,444 of its shares changed hands.

Insurer and pension provider Argus Holdings Ltd. was also a popular trade, as 20,100 shares traded while its price remained unchanged for the week at $15.50.

Overall, the BSX Index dropped 1.14 percent, falling 54.92 points to end Friday on 4,813.18.

The biggest faller was insurer BF&M Ltd., which dipped $1.25 (6.25 percent) to $18.75, as 2,546 shares traded.

One hundred Bermuda Container Line shares changed hands, as the transportation company's price fell 30 cents (2.14 percent) to close at $13.70.

Volume of trade on the BSX last week was 70,790 shares valued at just over $1.18 million.
