West Hamilton up

A $10 jump in the value of shares in former Bermuda Bakery operator West Hamilton Limited lead the way as the Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange continued to rise this week, reaching 5,092 points at the end of the day.

West Hamilton owns and manages the Belverdere Building and the Bakery Building in Pitts Bay Road and operated the bakery until it closed in June 2004.

Its shares rose $10 (20 percent) to $60 after 500 were traded on Wednesday. Also moving up was Butterfield Bank. A total of 6,035 shares were exchanged resulting in a 25 cent improvement in value to finish the day at $58.50.

Fifty shares in Bermuda Commercial Bank Limited were also traded at $9.50 but there was no change in the price, and there was no change in the closing price of MediaHouse shares, although 131 were exchanged at $6.65.

In the utilities sector 53 shares in KeyTech Limited were traded at $16.50 each, but there was no movement of the share price. The value of shares traded was $384,183.05 and saw the Exchange end the day 18.45 points (0.36 percent) higher.
